Set yourself free

The mind body connection is always important to think about. Our minds have a significant influence on how we live our lives. The issue with carrying so much weight on your back is that you may start to feel or believe that no one gets you or that no one will understand what your dealing with. This is far from the truth. According to Staff (2022) your body responds to the way you think, feel, and act. This is one type of "mind/body connection." When you are stressed, anxious, or upset, your body reacts physically. For example, you might develop high blood pressure or a stomach ulcer after a particularly stressful event, such as the death of a loved one (Staff, 2022).

The mind is more powerful than we really think, how we think about ourselves will ultimately dictate how we will live our lives. Have you ever come across someone that believes the lie that they are damaged goods, that they feel like life is not worth living. Traumatic events and mental illness can really make someone believe this lie. But how they feel is real, when you see someone struggling DO NOT ignore the signs. If you can't help them tell someone that knows them that can. Please don't take life for granted. In the Bible it says "Two people are better than one. When two people work together, they get more work done. If one person falls, the other person can reach out to help. But those who are alone when they fall have no one to help them". "Ecclesiastes 4: 9-12". I'm here to remind you that you are never alone, someone out there gets you. God gets you!

Setting your mind free can mean many things, it can mean forgiving those who have harmed you in the past, stop blaming others for where you are now. All that does is keeps you stagnant, if you really want to move forward in life you need to let go of the negative things you did or someone did to you in the past. I know it is easier said than done. I really get it but I generally believe it is more so forgiving yourself for allowing someone to do what they did to you even if you had no control or power to do anything about it back then. Now all the power is in your hands through the choices you are allowed to make. Set yourself free from the shackles of negativity and resentment.

There is power in the tongue: This might be the hardest thing to do, telling someone something that your going through that your insecure or sensitive about. However,  sometimes the weight of the problem we are experiencing can be unbearable. It can cause us to distance ourselves from others and in many cases may lead to severe depression or other forms of mental illness. Use the support systems available to you, don't turn to drinking, drugs or things that you know would not make you feel better. Sharing your experience with one person could really make a difference. Talk to someone who you trust, it is not their responsibility to judge you but to listen to you and support you with whatever you are going through.

People don't be fast to criticize someones actions when you have never lived a day in their shoes. This week I've been able to take to several people and it has made me certain that I am doing exactly what God wants me to do. Thank you for reading, continue supporting each other and continue shaking off all the negative energy you've been carrying this week or that you have been carrying all your life. It is your time to be set free. God bless you all!
